May 5, 2008 - The June 2008 issue of “American Cheerleader” magazine features Appalachian State University in its “college spotlight” feature. The interest in ASU’s cheer squad comes with the success of their football team winning 3 straight national titles. Not to be outdone, ASU cheer will bring both their all-girl team and their coed team to NCA and UCA college nationals, respectively this year in search of their own national titles. Please check out this issue of “American Cheerleader” for quotes from the team’s seniors about their amazing, die-hard fans and the experience of cheering (and winning) at “The Big House” in Michigan. www.americancheerleader.com
March 30, 2008 - MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Appalachian State University cheerleaders competed for their first time in 4 years. After day one of competition, they were on top of their field and performed even better on day two to remain on top over two other universities. The team is very happy with their performances and looking forward to bigger and better things in the seasons to come.

February 8, 2008 - BOONE, N.C. — Three-time-defending NCAA Division I national champion Appalachian State University will kick off the upcoming football season versus 2007 Bowl Championship Series champion LSU, announced by ASU director of athletics Charlie Cobb.

Check back later for scheduled dates.
If you would like to come and practice with the team at no charge, we have open gyms each semester. All you have to do is sign a waiver and let us know that you will be showing up the week before. The schedule will be posted here as the fall semester approaches.

Thank you again for your interest in App State Cheerleading! Please keep up your grades so that you can get into the school! It has been very competitive and will only get more difficult with our university getting so much nationwide publicity this year. The current average SAT score is 1130 and the average GPA is a 3.8 of students applying to App State.
